Blake Peterson is a distinguished expert in Course of Instruction (COI) development and Hand-to-Weapon tactics, boasting a remarkable 31-year career in military, law enforcement, and public training. His extensive experience in real-world security operations has equipped him with unparalleled expertise.
Raised within his father’s life work and training, Blake was highly trained at a very young age. Therefore, he was involved in the original SCARS® Project. By 1993, he had completed over 600 hours of SCARS Instructor training at the Navy SEAL installation on San Clemente Island as a civilian, in collaboration with the US Navy SEALs. This achievement certified him as a Senior Master-level Hand-to-Weapon Expert, authorized to train up SCARS Instructors for all United States special operations forces (SOF).
Blake continued training and developing new programs and processes throughout the years. In addition, he conducted and developed counter-driving measures nationally and internationally for both counter-kidnapping and dignitary protection in the field. Blake's expertise and knowledge base expanded significantly over more than 30 years as he learned and trained under his father and other contracted experts, enriched by his personal experiences.
Blake has trained elite units across SOF, including Navy SEAL Teams, US Army NCOICs at the JFK Warfare Center, US Air Force Combat Control Teams, US Marshals, US Border Patrol, and US Air Marshals. His expertise extends internationally, where he has trained foreign dignitaries and their Tier One units, such as Presidential Guards, in both lethal and non-lethal tactics.
Under the leadership of Jerry Peterson, the visionary founder, SCARS® programs were initially run under Direct Action Corporation. In 2009, Jerry Peterson concluded operations with Direct Action Corporation, paving the way for a new era in combat training. Having personally survived numerous life-threatening situations using SCARS principles, Blake Peterson recognized the necessity to further develop and refine the system's scientific and training methodologies. Recognizing the significant potential of SCARS, Blake secured the rights from previous asset holders through a strategic agreement, leading to the formation of SCARS Unlimited LLC in 2010. This marked a new era, allowing SCARS to expand its reach while maintaining its core values and scientific approach. It's essential to recognize that all SCARS programs, both past and present, utilize the term 'SCARS' as a comprehensive label representing over 35,000 hours of research and development. This includes not only the very original programs developed for the SEALs but also all current and future innovations.
Since 1989, SCARS has established itself as a cornerstone for military and law enforcement training. Under Direct Action Corporation, SCARS launched a global video training initiative, which set the foundation for its expansive reach, significantly impacting the public through its innovative video training programs and seminars. This legacy continues under SCARS Unlimited LLC, where Blake Peterson leads efforts to broaden access to transformative training programs.
Following the public release of the original Hostile Control Series in 1994, Blake has been instrumental in developing 10 additional multi-video training series. He has solely produced three more complete series and numerous advanced lessons in the virtual training center, further enhancing SCARS' offerings. His leadership extends to the development of the SCARS online training system, ensuring that cutting-edge self-defense and tactical training are accessible to a global audience.
